  • Can Bitcoin last forever?

Do you think BitCoin can last forever? As we have seen so many payment processors end up at wrong side of the field like Liberty Reserve, Egopay and such, so do you guys think Bit Coin can survived for long? I definitely feel it can last a lot longer, but eventually everything has limit and I see same thing with Bit Coin, it’s likely that we will see the curtain pulling up, but I won’t say that time is anywhere near! Do like to hear from you guys….

Nothing can last forever not even this world, therefore, it’s not really required for us to be worried for that far in the future. I don’t think there is anything that’s going to happen with Bitcoins in near future, but you can’t really guarantee anything at all. So, I am with you with your opinion that we should be relatively comfortable if we wish to have it, but it should be at manageable price/rate to avoid any big problem.

Even humans can’t last forever, so how do we expect Bitcoins to last forever? I don’t think they will and that’s why we shouldn’t think much about them. However, it’s not sensible to worry about future that far, so this question shouldn’t even arise in our mind while there is always chance of better digital currency coming up, but still we can’t really think about BTC dropping down too far or completing getting of the map since it’s never designed that way.

Lol, it’s true that no one is guaranteed for eternal. However, I think BTC model is fairly stable enough to survive till long long time, but you shouldn’t look so far ahead.

If we are looking for long term investment then I think it’s safe and that’s really what should matter most for us. I will be hesitant for short term investment because it’s not good at all for that and we need to be very wise and careful.

We don’t know what’s going to be happening the very next moment, so how are we going to say/predict about future? Let the question rest in peace and we should focus on what’s in hand and try to get most out of it. Sometime a go, I was just too much worried about whether BTC will last or all those sort of things and due to that I sold 3 BTC at 330, it’s double at present, so only because of my fear and worry I lost that much, but I learned lesson that I never will forget.

You are right dear, but I guess it’s human’s tendency to be worried about things he can’t even control, so don’t blame anyone but it’s just about mindset.

It’s sad that you made the wrong decision and it cost you so much, but believe me there are many people who had 100-200 BTC when it was at 10-15, but they sold it at just slightly higher price and as we know it touched 1000, so just imagine what they must be feeling?

I don’t know if it’s going to last long but for sake of people, I really wish it does because many are depend on it completely, if we see it going down then it’s likely that we will see a lot of people becoming jobless and end up losing heavily. I won’t really wish something like that to be happening. I am confident that it’s good enough to last a lot distance but again nothing can be guaranteed!

It would have been hard to answer this some time ago, but now I see things are extremely different and the primary reason is BTC has been developed big time and is now even in Forex markets, so you can’t just see it disappearing overnight.

I completely back to survive and be there just like any other currency, but popularity rate and all that is something you will find very hard to say with certainty.

You can’t really bet on these things because unpredictability in the world is quite normal but what can suddenly go wrong with Bitcoin?

If I bring up the list, I don’t see any reason why it will not last and at the same time, if time comes when the popularity drops yet it’s likely that it will still survive and that too for fairly long time just with the potential we have seen very early with it, so that’s biggest plus point of it.

The way it’s going you could say that but then life is unpredictable as it gets, as we have seen even Kings becoming slaves and slaves becoming Kings, so life is just unpredictable line of work and that’s why we don’t need to worry much what happens in future. If we have to worry then we should worry only about things at present because that’s just what we need and is the important part of thinking for us.

I think this is a hypothetical question. Now how long the Bitcoin last would depend on the usual demand & supply. Other than that, it must be considered as legal tender in many countries as some countries have not still recognized that!

So, this is looking too far into the future and we must be more concerned with our present conditions and if already using bitcoins, then try to use it in good way by the usual management of risks!

Nothing is permanent, period. We can debate about that endlessly but sticking to topic, Bitcoin may last till it is found useful by the users and has the necessary suitable conditions. Now there is no need to stick with Bitcoin if it is not providing the necessary service as demanded by majority of the users! It depends on how much risk individuals are willing to take and the ease of operating using Bitcoin to do the financial transactions.

This is not possible to say because things can be unexpected and it can turn very quickly.

There is no weak link in Bitcoin, so I don’t think it can close out. But, it’s impossible to talk about forever or anything like that, as it will just be immature and is not something we should really worry or talk over with. I believe we should use it till it’s popular and till we can gain from this.

Can we last forever? I believe no, so if we can’t last forever then why worry about forever scenario? I agree with Iiron, it’s better to enjoy it and not worry about anything else, as it’s just not required at all, so we should be least concerned. We should just enjoy the mammoth growth that we are witnessing; it of course becomes possible when we actually have it. I for one have it, so I can definitely enjoy the feast!

That is a future thing which nobody knows or predict accurately. So we must stick with the present and immediate near future of instead of lasting forever scenario! As of now, Bitcoins are doing okay but still has a lot of untapped potential which needs to properly exploited and utilized.

So depending on your comfort factor and requirements, you can use Bitcoins both as a payment system or a form of investment. With more usage expected in immediate future the outlook of bitcoin is very bright!
